Today's Flowers!

My flowers last Sunday belongs to Baby E again.
I don't know the name.
And I forgot to post it in time.
I must be getting old.
I am now 8 years old (or 56 in human years)

This flower starts like little seeds . . .

. . . and opens up to reveal small, shy orangey petals . .

. . . which is not always seen from afar . . .

. . . unless you go closer and look closely . . .

. . . just like the beauty in all beings
is better seen up close and personal . . .

The Secret Way To Cool Myself

. . . is to get my little brother Sweepy!

Every time the weather is humid
and no amount of drinking cold water
can stop me from panting,
I turn to my brother Sweepy
who always stay near me. . .

. . . and when the fan stops
I just nudge my fan like this . . .

. . . and the fan goes back to work!

. . . and I get cooled lovingly and for free!
Sweepy is not only a SuperDog
he is also my super fan!

Today's Flowers

. . . was yesterday's flower.

Our Birds of Paradise (we have several growing wildly in our house named Heaven) would always start hissing when it pops out!

Nope, it is not the bees buzzing because we rarely have bees.
I think bees prefer sweet flowers like roses or carnations
which we do not have in our house Heaven.
I guess only wild flowers like orchids grow in our place
because the delicate flowers are afraid of dogs like us.

When the Birds of Paradise start opening up like this . . .

. . . me and my little brother Sweepy would ran like crazy!
It is not because we love to watch the flower come out.
We love to stay near the plant because when the flower comes out . . .

. . . the roots rejuvenates and we love to chew it
and the people in Heaven would holler at us . . .

. . . but the people in Heaven are not always around
to check on us at all hours . . . and we really can not help ourselves
especially when we are just by ourselves!

So now we do not have this variety of the Birds of Paradise
because when we chewed the stem and roots
the flowers died and became just a memory. . .
so this flower is not really today . . . but yesterday's flower!

But there are lots of beautiful flowers today in this site.
Check it out!

Can You Translate This Dog's Look?

Am I lonely?
Am I sad?
This is what the people usually say when they see me like this.

I am not sad.
I am not lonely.
I just happen to have a face
that does not reflect what I am feeling.

And right now I am feeling quite confused.
You see, I am always wondering about the things
in our house named Heaven.

Like this:

The people in our house Heaven love chairs.
And we have a lot of different chairs in our house.
We even have chairs for the dogs and MrFrogsky.
We have a small chair for our laundry woman too.
But a chair for chairs to sit on?

My ever impatient brother Sweepy barks back.

That is not a chair for chairs!
Keeper just washed the chairs
and now she wants to dry it
so she placed them on top of the garden chair
so we can not pee
and put our mark on it!

Hey, that's a smart answer Sweepy!
That is exactly what I wanted to do!
I want to pee on the newly-washed chair
but Keeper placed them there!

And that is what that look say.
I was both happy and enlightened.
If you think otherwise
then you really do not know
how to read a dog's look. . .

Today's Flowers!

These red flowers belong to our neighbor who is always away.
It is actually a small tree.

For months this small tree looks ordinary but this July, the tree suddenly sprouted with little seeds . . . which later explodes into little flowers that made a hissing sound that can be heard from our house Heaven. I barked loud at my human companion!

This small tree with tiny red singing flowers does not bear fruit. It just flowers and later drop their red petals on the sidewalk which may take sometime for its owners to clean since they are always away.

By the way, thank you for writing me about the fairies in our house which I posted in the previous post. Fairies are everywhere but somehow people don't seem to see them when animals like us see them all the time! And yes they sing too!

A Magical Surprise For Everybody . . .

I know it is not easy for some of you to read about me.
I know it is not easy for you to understand
how a black, dopey-looking dog like me
can possibly love flowers and hear them sing.

I do hear flowers singing
long before I sense them coming out.

I also do bark at the people
to alert them to the coming flowers
and yes, I bark even to my dog family
who also hear and smell them
as well as I do.

That is my Popsy Sumo.
My Popsy Sumo loves to watch them too.
No, not just the flowers and the plants
but somethings else . . .
something more beautiful
than what you are seeing!

Can you see anything aside from the plants?

Well, I have a surprise for all of you.
Today, I am featuring
my favorite dances
of our beautiful faeries
who are all dancing wildly
since the Summer Solstice . . .

My brother Sweepy thinks the faeries were dancing
to the classical strains of Tchaikovsky.
I especially love this music.
It makes me relax and drool less.
I am sure our fairies love it as well.

Do you know why the fairies are dancing?

Now that is a secret that this black dog is not sharing.
But maybe someday I will.
When the time is right.

For now . . .

Do not ask.
Do not doubt.
Just enjoy the dance.
And know that what you don't see
or smell or hear . . . and love
is actually just beside you

. . . if only you will look
not just . . . with your eyes.

Happy July, people!
